Looking for cheap gas? Here's how to save 25 cents per gallon with Circle K's new loyalty program

Starting September 2, Inner Circle members will receive points for every visit that you spend $3 or more in-store or fuel-up with at least five gallons. Just by entering your phone number at the checkout or pump, you’ll receive a “visit” credit.

Members who amass 25 visits will also get $1 off per gallon.

The chain will also offer bonus visits through personalized challenges that the company says are tailored to the way those members already shop.

“Every visit counts, and now every visit pays off,” said Rick Rasor, Vice President of Loyalty & Digital Experience at Circle K. “We’ve been listening to our members, and they told us loyalty programs shouldn’t feel like one more thing to manage. That’s why the redesigned Inner Circle rewards program is built around how they already shop.”

Visits can also be redeemed for non-gas items, like free coffee.

As part of the launch of the revamped program, Circle K will offer double visits on September 2. And all members will save five cents per gallon on gas through October 31.

How to sign up

To be eligible for the discounts, you’ll need to be a member of the company’s Inner Circle program. There are four ways to sign up:

1. Text JOIN to 25050 to become a member and receive SMS offers.
2. Download the Circle K app and create an account.
3. Join online at circlek.com.
4. Enter your mobile number at the pump or checkout to receive a text with a quick enrollment link.

Additional savings

Circle K has learned the drawing power of discounted gas over the past few years. The company, several times a year, cuts 40 cents off the price of a gallon of gas for members of its loyalty program. And it regularly donates part of the profits of that promotion to charitable organizations.

In May, for example, Circle K gave 10% to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, which provides college scholarships and educational counseling to military children who lost a parent in the line of duty.

Circle K’s announcement of the revamped program comes as AAA reports fuel prices in America have surged to a national average of $4.10 per gallon. That’s 25 cents more than the month prior and just shy of a dollar more per gallon than a year ago.

“Typically, August brings some relief at the pump as road trips wind down and fall routines get underway for many families,” AAA wrote. “But elevated crude oil prices could prevent that seasonal shift from starting just yet.”
