Paris Hilton took to Instagram and TikTok recently to show off her kids touring a gorgeous mansion. But the large home has some unexpected owners. It’s actually a doggy mansion that’s in the backyard of Hilton’s $63 million estate in Los Angeles.
Hilton lives on the six-acre property with her husband, Carter Reum, her three-year-old son Phoenix, and her two-year-old daughter London — plus, of course, her five dogs, who have been enjoying a doghouse that would be the envy of any canine (as well as many humans!)
Her recent post wasn’t the first time that she’s featured the doggy mansion on social media, as Architectural Digest reported that Hilton had tweeted about the luxury abode back in 2017. This time, though, her pups have some new competition, as her kids were so in love with the house that they declared they were moving in.

Hilton’s doggy mansion has some unique features
The photos of Hilton’s kids touring the doggy mansion show the home in all its glory, including an ornate metal staircase, a two-story floor plan, multiple pink dog beds and a basketball hoop. It also, perhaps unsurprisingly, features fabulous pink walls.
As Architectural Digest reported in 2017, the property spans 300 square feet, and it has both heating and air conditioning, as well as a chandelier and designer furniture. There’s also a balcony for outdoor access, and multiple windows and light fixtures, so it can be used day or night.
Hilton’s children seemed suitably impressed by the digs, with London commenting, “Oh, look at the doggy mansion. The doggy mansion!” In fact, both Hilton’s son and daughter declared that the dogs would soon have some new roommates, with her son starting, “This is my house, too.”

Hilton reveals a twist: It was for the kids all along
While Hilton’s dogs may not be too happy about it, it turns out that the kids actually do get to claim the home as their own.
“It is your house,” Hilton told the kids. “You know, I built this for you guys before you were born. I was already talking about you because I used to have a dollhouse when I was little, but my puppies were my first babies, so that’s why it’s called the ‘Doggy Mansion.’”
Hilton’s Instagram post showcasing the adorable tour was also captioned, “Looks like Phoenix is moving into the doggy mansion #CutesieCrew #SlivingMom.”
Spoiling dogs isn’t just for socialites
While Hilton may have always intended the property to be for her future children, she is far from the only one going to great lengths to make her pets comfortable. She’s also not the only one who considers her dogs to have been her first babies.
One survey of 2,000 dog owners from Talker Research revealed that 84% of dog owners considered their dogs to be like their child, while another study commissioned by pet food brand I and love and you found 61% considered their pet as their kid and 42% described their dog as a “starter child” to see if they were ready for a human baby.
Of course, most people can’t afford to build their dog an entire mansion, but the annual cost of dog ownership still averages around $2,500, which isn’t exactly cheap.
Hilton’s mansion cost far more than that, though, but it seems like it’s paying off as the kids who she said it was ultimately for seemed ready to pack their bags and make the house their new permanent home.
