From “Billionaires Row” to “Poverty Flats,” America is divided by its stark income inequality.
Forbes put together a combined list of the richest and poorest cities in each state, using data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2019 American Community Survey five-year estimates. The magazine analyzed each area in terms of its median household income and mean household income.
The list also includes towns, villages, boroughs and census-designated places.
We conducted some research of our own to determine why each city was designated as the richest or poorest in its state.
