Instagram marketing is big business. Celebrities and influencers regularly use the platform to promote brands that pay lots of money for the privilege.
Some of the top earners are to be expected: pop singers, sports stars, globe-trotting models -- and Kardashians. But other people you may not have heard of also make big money on Instagram.
So, who are the top names in the Instagram marketing game, and how much do they make per sponsored post?
Instagram scheduling tool Hopper HQ has answers, using its own data and public information. We present Instagram's top 10 moneymaking celebs — counting down to No. 1. They're followed the eight highest-earning Instagram influencers.

$120,000 per post
Gigi Hadid is one of the world's most famous models and one of the most popular celebrities on Instagram with 39.3 million followers. They have propelled her into the top 10 among Instragram earners.
Hadid has collaborated with brands such as Reebok, Maybelline and Tommy Hilfiger, and she has modeled for fashion houses including Valentino, Versace and Moschino.
She even tried her hand as a photographer for Versace last year. Her Instagram consists mostly of pictures from fashion shoots and brand collaborations, and photos with her friends.

Basketball's King James is royalty on Instagram, where he has pulled in 36.6 million followers. James' Instagram handle is, in fact, "kingjames."
The Cleveland Cavaliers star and four-time NBA MVP uses the platform to communicate with his fans.
He shares game photos and videos, family pics, and snaps of himself with other celebs, like Justin Timberlake.
8. Cara Delevingne
$150,000 per post
Model and actress (Paper Towns/Suicide Squad) Cara Delevingne is a big deal on Instagram, where she has 41 million followers and makes impressive amounts of cash.
Her posts include catwalk photos and magazine cover shots, plus images that promote her sponsors, such as Puma sportswear.

Only the first Kardashian/Jenner to appear on our list, Khloe Kardashian has 74.8 million Instagram followers and earns a quarter of a million dollars per post, according to Hopper HQ.
Her Instagram feed has recently surged in popularity as she documented her pregnancy with her first child. She and Cleveland Cavaliers basketball player Tristan Thompson recently welcomed their baby daughter.
Khloe K's feed has been loaded with baby-bump shots and pictures of pink roses, in addition to images of family gatherings and trips.

The Kardashian women feature heavily in this list of the Instagram earners, and that shouldn't be any wonder. After all, they built their empire on social media.
Kourtney Kardashian has fewer followers than any her sisters: 61.9 million. But she still makes the same amount per post as younger sibling Khloe.
Kourtney K's Instagram feed is similar to those of her sisters. It's filled with artsy images of her glamorous life and international travels, and there are sponsored posts for a variety of brands.
5. Kendall Jenner
$370,000 per post
This Kardashian sister has 89.6 million followers who help make her one of Instagram's big financial winners.
She has made a career for herself as a successful model, and her Instagram is filled with behind-the-scenes snaps of photo shoots, fashion magazine covers and pics with model friends like Gigi and Bella Hadid.
Jenner has worked with several big-name brands including Adidas, Calvin Klein and Fendi, and she has walked the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Kylie Jenner is the youngest member of the Kardashian brood but holds her own with her older sibs when it comes to Instagram popularity.
She has 106 million followers and is near the top on the list of high earners.
Last year, Jenner famously disappeared from social media during her pregnancy, which she chose to keep private. Since then, updates on her daughter Stormi have taken the first three spots among Instagram's most-liked posts.

Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo kicks serious butt on Instagram, where he's got an astounding 124 million followers and makes piles of money.
His sponsored posts promote athletic gear, underwear, shampoo, a steelmaker and other advertisers.
Ronaldo's feed also treats fans to tons of action shots and pics with his Real Madrid teammates.
2. Kim Kardashian
$500,000 per post
Kim K's success on Instagram should come as a surprise to absolutely no one. She practically posts nonstop — and makes a ton of money in the process.
She has 110 million followers with whom she shares selfies, snaps from fashion shoots and a lot of family photos of her three children with rapper Kanye West.
It's also a way she promotes her beauty line, KKW Beauty, one of her main business ventures.

Pop music star Selena Gomez is both the most popular person on Instagram, with 135 million followers, and the top earner.
She has used her Instagram to promote causes she supports, such as the #TimesUp movement and the March For Our Lives that was a response to the recent school shooting in Florida.
Her feed includes selfies, snapshots from the singer's day-to-day-life, and updates on her music, media appearances and brand collaborations.

Song does a daily vlog on YouTube and has written a New York Times best-seller, Capture Your Style: Transform Your Instagram Photos, Showcase Your Life, and Build the Ultimate Platform.
She was named to Forbes' 2016 "30 Under 30 list" of hot young designers.
7. Julie Sariñana

Julie Sariñana is a fashion blogger and influencer, known for her blog "Sincerely, Jules" and — more recently — a clothing line of the same name.
Her 4.7 million Instagram followers enjoy seeing her photographed in various outfits as she travels the world.
She promotes a variety of high-fashion brands and outlets through her blog and social media.
6. Chiara Ferragni

Chiara Ferragni is an Italian fashion blogger who was recently ranked the world's most powerful fashion influencer by Forbes.
She has 12.6 million followers on Instagram, which is one of the many ways she earns money. She also has a blog, "The Blonde Salad," designs clothes, and collaborates with brands and models.
Ferragni was the first fashion blogger to appear on a Vogue cover, in 2015.

Nash Grier's Instagram is one of the most popular influencer accounts, with 9.9 million followers.
He became famous as a teen on the now-defunct video platform Vine, where he made up to $100,000 promoting products.
Now past 20, he runs a successful YouTube account and has ventured into acting.

Zoe Sugg, more commonly known as Zoella, is a beauty and fashion influencer who first became famous as a blogger and YouTube personality.
She has since diversified, launching a Zoella Beauty line and writing a book, Girl Online, which set a U.K. record for the highest first-week sales for any debut author.
Her 11 million Instagram followers enjoy pictures of Zoella's travels, outfits and day-to-day life, and she is paid well for her sponsored posts, says Hopper HQ.

Jen Selter is a fitness influencer who has achieved fame on Instagram through her impeccably toned physique. She has 12 million followers who have helped her become a serious moneymaker.

She has 24.9 million followers and is Instagram's top makeup artist and beauty guru, using the platform to share tips, tutorials and reviews of beauty products.
Kuttan also is an entrepreneur with her own successful line of makeup products. Since the Huda Beauty brand launched, she has focused her Instagram on promoting the line and sharing videos of other users enjoying the products.
